I am a photographer, musician, and activist living in Carpinteria, where I moved to, in 1985, from the Los Angeles area (Echo Park). My work in Hollywood as a Key Grip included National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Beetlejuice. Since leaving the film business, I have devoted much of my energy to Carpinteria and South Coast images and critical community issues.
I helped spearhead the successful community-wide grassroots effort to save the Carpinteria Bluffs back in the 1990’s. In addition, for the past ten years, I have been one of the two official photographers for the Santa Barbara Blues Society. (Along with shooting images of musicians, I also perform in a band I formed called The Americana Cats that plays in the local Santa Barbara area. You can find this at facebook.com/AmericanaCats.) I also help organize the Artists Studio Tour each year for the Carpinteria Arts Center.
My photographs have appeared in a number of local, regional & national publications as well as, right here in Carpinteria, on the public kiosks for the Franklin Trail and the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve. My Fine Arts photography has appeared in a number of local juried shows and the annual Carpinteria & Summerland Artists Studio Tour as well as being featured in occasional one "man" shows.
